It's been a while... But hey, here we go.
I've been having a break for the last few months, and for a good reason -- a lot of shit happened. The break gave me a lot of time to think about stuff. During that time I've seriously considered not coming back at all. But the friendly but concerned messages that I received from those that were still following me kinda persuade me to keep things updated -- at least once in a while.
I've most spend the last few weeks creating stuff in solitude. I haven't spend much time on social media, but made lots of sketches, speed paints, and concepts and chapters for my story. And I have to admit, I kinda came to like that silence. Social media --any kind of social media, DA included-- is like a black hole. It's easy to lose time that could've better spend creating. It's easy to lose focus. And it's easy to become numb by the continuous chatter. Because on the internet every person has an opinion on everyone and their moms, and not seeing the face of the person at the other end of the screen sure does make it easier for people to make another feel bad about himself.
It's for that reason I decided to cut down on my time on DA and social media in general.
Experimenting with social media in order to learn about it was a great thing. It paid off. But it's gotten to a point that the experience doesn't offer anything new, and it's done. I want to focus on art more. On improvement. And not the least; on finishing my novel. And on using whatever I learn along the way to bring those characters to life.
To those that are following me;
Thanks a lot for your kind words and your continuous support! You've provided (and still provide) me with amazing feedback, tutorials and insight.
I will keep updating this profile. Just not with the same mad weekly-posting schedule I had in 2014.
I will keep updating my art, though I won't post every single sketch -- that would probably annoy the hell out of you XD. Expect to see some Emion stuff in the upcoming months... and hopefully some artistic improvement. The results of the last poll kinda convinced me to at least post a sketchdump a month to keep you up to par with progress.
I will keep writing journals occasionally about stuff I deem inspiring or helpful for the community, but I won't reply to everyone in person anymore. It simply takes too much of my time -- time that I want to spend making art.
I will keep doing occasional giveaways, but in a simpler fashion.
Don't forget to watch my activity feed, displayed in on the front page or on my profile. I'll use that to post small updates about tutorials or otherwise (artistic) stuff that I deem interesting. Might be worthwhile to check out once in a while.
Oh, if you haven't read it yet, here are some tips to make 2015 an awesome year;

I'm still alive
It's been a while since I last posted and people have sending me worried messages, so I wanted to let you all know I'm doing fine. I don't have corona and I'm not dead. My computer broke down a while ago, and the consistent problems of working with a broken system and not having the money to properly fix or replace it eventually made me very demotivated to draw. As an artist I've always suffered from self-doubt and massive imposter syndrome. No matter how good I get, I'm always critical at my work. The last batch of commissions I did (even though for a good cause) just emphasized that feeling of not being creatively ready to venture into professional spheres. I honestly respect the people who do, but it's not for me. The pressure of having to churn out quality work on a time limit (next to my regular work) burned me out, and I needed some time off the internet to recuperate. Thank you all for your supportive messages. I'm trying to pick up my art again. Slowly, and working on my
Emergency commissions for vet bills [ON HOLD]
Update April 23, 2020
I'm literally blown away by all the response I got.
I have now filled up a first batch of commissions.
As much as will help me cover the initial bill. And as much as will be possible to deliver, considering I have to do those drawings in my free time (I have a regular job to attend as well).
I expect to deliver commissions somewhere over the upcoming 6 weeks.
Depending on the situation with the cat I might open up more commissions in the future.
Original post
Hey guys.
My beloved cat, Pepper, fell sick. I had to go take her to the vet. It's at this moment yet uncertain what's wrong with her, but she needed to get b
Git gud
It's so tiring to hear people dismiss the ability to create art as sheer talent, and tell me they could never do the same as I do. What do you expect me to answer? That some divine being came down and blessed me with the ability to do art? And you haven't got that divine skill, so you never could do it, and we should all pity you for it?
The truth is that there isn't much of a difference, except that I spend a lot of time creating art. I learned how to draw hands, because I've drawn hundreds of them over the last couple of years. I learned writing because I write nearly every day, and read books when I don't. I spend a lot of time creating a

I'm glad you're doing better and I hope your art improves, though there doesn't seem to be much to improve upon. It's very beautiful. Best wishes to you. ^ ^
