Improvement Meme 1999 - 2016 by DamaiMikaz Improvement Meme 1999 - 2016 by DamaiMikaz
I've sure come a long way. And I've improved quite a bit, especially over the last years. Still it feels like I've wasted a tremendous amount of time somewhere along the process.

All art can be found on these 2 accounts -- my current and old art account
:icondamaimikaz: :icondamaimikazold:

For those that wondered what I did in those two missing years;
I didn't sell my soul in order for art skills. I just spend a lot of time writing a novel and working on my characters. So that when I returned, I had a much clearer image in mind of where I wanted to go.

This is one of the most inspiring things I've seen in a while. I've been struggling with my artstyle lately and feeling like I haven't really been improving like I want to. It's really helped seeing everyone else posting their progress and how despite unwanted circumstances and hard times, they've managed to get past that and find their way to improvement, but I think this is some of the most massive improvement I've seen yet. It really reminded me that if I keep working at it and don't give in to artblock and life's troubles, I'll keep improving and get to where I want to be over time.
Thank you for this. <3

Hahaha. It took me years, though. That's one thing to remember. You need to be patient

Whoa sooo much progress! Truly amazing and inspiring! This is a perfect way to show anyone how talent develops and that sometimes taking a break is the best you can do as the quality of you work improved tenfold after. I hope you can continue doing what you love and share your great works with everyone!

At first glance I think it's interesting how the right-hand column looks bright with pastels and the left-hand column is darker, in more ways that one. ;p
I think you've come a tremendous way. You're very inspiring to me! I want to be able to do story scenes for my own writing one day. Major kudos on sharing both by the way! How I wish I could read Dutch... :)

I love seeing the progress so much. I think it's great that you post it, too. I think other artists could be encouraged to see how far you've come from 99 to now just by practicing and drawing. Sometimes people look at their work and they are discouraged by how little they actually like it compared to the work of others (like you), but when you post something like this, they can see that all it takes is patience and the ability to keep going. You're a great artist. Thanks for sharing this. :)

When u stoped for those two years, was it easy or hard to get accustomed to drawing again? I'm just curious because if I stop for even a week it's hard to pick it up again, I couldn't imagine two years.

It was both hard and easy.
Hard because my drawings skills had obviously become pretty rusty during those years. Easy because I had more than enough inspiration to draw.

It's inspiring, and interesting to see, how you've come all this way through all of that struggle. It's really amazing. :)

I really hope, that I can improve just as much as you have. I'm still young, so I have a looong way to go.

I always feel sort of discouraged when I see really good artists on deviant art and think, how am I ever going to get that good? It's really motivating to see where you started and where you are now through hard work and practice :)

I think it really impressive especially after those two years then coming back with a whole new perspective.
Only wish I hadn't waste so much time myself, still have a long what to go. From how you've handle your work it stunning to say the least, and I hope further more that it continues to embark new highest as you progress throughout the years. :)

That's a result of a LOT of practice, my dear :) Many people do give up because they want to master the skill in a couple of days :P Practice requires patience. Therefore, I am perfectly justified for admiring you ^^

It's unique seeing someone progress further then they either imagined or hoped to do so.
It's so interesting to see you accomplish something you admire.
Good job.

What you achieved is amazing.
