Experiment XIV

Description

The outside world didn't know about these children. It was better that way, Enirgon's employees were told, as they had to sign contract that forced them to keep their mouth tightly shut about the horrible experiments that happened there. These were no children. Although they looked like humans, and their appearance seemed just as cute as those of regular kids, there was something odd about them. Their eyes were empty.

Until then, there never were real problems. Sure, there were occasions in which a kid accidently escaped and wandered through the buildings. But they never did any damage.

How drastically would everything change, just by the appearance of one boy. Experiment XIV, or fourteen, as he was called. He looked just like the others when he arrived, just like a normal kid. With his black hair and pale skin, he kind of looked like a kid from Darkai, they said jokingly. Only his bright, glowing, red eyes set him apart from the rest of the group. The empty eyes of a true demon, they learned very soon...

Made with Paint tool SAI & Photoshop in way too many hours. But at least it's better than the 2007 version: damaimikaz.deviantart.com/art/…

Firstly, a wonderful piece. You seem to have put much time and devotion into it, and I adore the story.

I know many would think the boys face needs more emotion, but since he isn't human, it makes sense he doesn't feel anything. I love how his face and stance gives off a slight sense of innocence, but his eyes give him away; there seems to be something sinister in his eyes, something demonic, like he's calculating, and he knows he is more powerful than the man in front of him. I also love how he looks slightly damaged, filled with a silent rage.

The only thing wrong with this piece is that there is little definition on the mans arm. The sleeve seems a little too flawless, and there is no indication of were the arm ends and the body begins. Other than that, awesome work!
