Description

Okay, this is somewhat nostalgic to me (perhaps even more than a bit T__T)

As a lot of my followers know I've been working on a project named Emion for a while.
I've made a lot of art for it over the years and a lot of people have been asking me who those characters were and where those story snippets (that go with the art) come from.

Emion is my own work of fiction.
It's a novel I stared writing on many years ago, when in a really bad situation in life. I've always been writing. I've had a huge imagination ever since I was a kid and writing down stories about entire imaginary worlds has always helped me maintain my calm when nothing in life went the way it was supposed to be. Emion was just the next project in line that I spend a great deal of time writing on. Initially I started writing just for fun and with little to no direction, but eventually the world and the characters grew on me and I started to get more serious into it.

What many people don't know is that Emion is probably the reason I got so invested into art.
I started the project at the end of 2006. Yes, that's almost 10 years ago now (I'm that obsessed XD). It started with a story that is a sidestory from what is now the main storyline, which was mostly an experiment to test this new world setting and a new style of writing (which is easier, if you only have to take one character into account). I then went on writing the main storyline, which eventually got up to multiple books because the Emion world pretty much expanded along the way and my crappy computer kept crashing my ridiculously huge files.

But along with the writing, somehow came the desire to give those characters a face.
At that point it had been quite a while since I did art seriously. I've done a few sketches of some of them (1)(2) at the early beginning, but my skills were pretty much non-existent and I didn't feel they represented the characters really well so somewhere soon after I ragequit and just continued writing. It wasn't until a few years after that I felt that itch again to draw stuff from my story. It was at that time (2010) that I got back on DeviantArt, took up my pencils and some serious drawing books, and finally started to take shit more seriously.

Fast forward 6 more years, and we are at the point that I am now.

The pencil sketches are from 2010 when I first attempted to draw my characters after a long break. The colored ones are from where I am now.
At heart I still feel much more like a writer than like an artist, and I probably will feel like that forever. However, it does make me happy that despite all of the health setbacks I've suffered over the last few years, I still managed to make some serious progress.

For those wondering about the characters and the story itself:
I'm currently in the process of writing book II, but I write in my native language (feels more comfortable) so it might be quite a long while before (or if) it ever hits the English market. I will keep posting snippets with my drawings, though. As for the characters... I'm working on some character sheets that I'm planning to upload here one of these days.

Anyway... this has been a pretty long ramble.
I just wanted to say: Thanks for the support, all of you :huggle:
