Another speedpaint. Loosely based on the 'inferno at sunset' flashback, somewhere in Emion book II

And f*ck... why do I always start out with something very normal, and then mess around with colors until it looks over the top bombastic... and like a freakin' rainbow? T___T So much fail.

I am not, nor will I claim to be, in anyway educated about art or the proper terminology to critique it. However, I am hoping that the fact that I am basing my critique purely on my visual and emotional reactions might give you a bit of a different perspective. With that said...

As I was scrolling thru your gallery I caught this picture out of the corner of my eye and was drawn in like a moth to a flame. I have been staring at it for the last 10 minutes, and every time I think I have finally SEEN all of it, I another subtle detail of shading and lighting catches my eye.

I know that you felt that that the color was overdone, but I think is what TRULY pulls it all together. I can almost SEE the smoke hanging in the air, I can feel the heat of the fire, and my brain keeps getting so drawn into it I feel like could get off my couch and step right into the painting.

In a word: Wow. Seriously, just wow.
What do you think?

I am always drawn to paintings with light, I love the light in this picture.  This is great art, you may not have reached what you wanted to in this piece, but in my little opinion it is far from "fail".

Nice work, browsing your artwork, find this paintng really catchy.
I'm not anime fun but i liked the photo filling of this painting. I could say the front and the backward bluring give a feeling like the bokehn effect in photography.

This is an absolute intriguing work of art. A little ambiguous, but I love mystery; I make out a figure on the terrace. I love the light reflecting off of the figure and the small orbs of yellow that are evenly balanced with the rest of your color scheme and composition.. Yellow tends to draw the eye to it, yet I am equally drawn to the dark areas, as well as the sunset. The sunset appears as a main focal point being right in the middle, but I can identify with the figure as though it is the main idea, placing me at the scene. Cheers!
